Abilene Football Officials

About Us

The Abilene Chapter of Football Officials is one of the most widely known and respected chapters in the state of Texas. Collectively we have over 1,000 years of officiating experience, from Pop Warner/youth leagues to NCAA Division I. A number of our officials are active NCAA CFO officials, and some have even officiated in the NFL. The Chapter is consistently selected to officiate deep High School playoff rounds, and is also frequently chosen to officiate High School Championship games.

the Best Damn Refs in the Land!

Our Mission

To provide quality football officials for all levels to officiate games with integrity so that student athletes, coaches, and fans have a memorable experience with the focus being where it should be: on the student athletes playing the game.

Our officials have over 1,000 years of combined officiating experience in football at all levels. We work approximately 1,000 games including youth ball, subvarsity, and High School Varsity games at both 6-Man and 11-Man levels, from 1A DII to 6A.

Pay will depend on the level of the game, and can vary based on how far you have to travel. Crews typically ride together, and for a Friday night, your minimum pay is $120, and can go up from there. Subvarsity games pay less, but are typically stacked, so 2 Thursday night games (averaging 130, including travel) plus a Friday night game – you can make as much as much as you want to, and are available to work!
